I am a professional wedding photographer serving the Chattanooga, Tennessee & Houston, Texas area.
A few random facts about me that you definitely need to know. In my free time, I love trying new coffee recipes, having picnics on the lake, and exploring new places with my extremely cute dog. You should also know that I have an amazing sense of humor. It's a mix of dry humor and sarcasm. Don't worry, I think being an enneagram 1w9 is the reason I'm pretty good at reading a room.
My love for photography started a little over 10 years ago. Shortly after I moved from Wisconsin to Texas in 2010. Which is insane to think about! Photography is a passion that continues to grow. I love the fact that I am able to combine my passion and skill with your story!

An exclusive service that only Sophie Boivin Photography offers to incorporate into your wedding day.
Couples strive for a unique look and experience to have during their wedding day. That is why this new service will capture your wedding from an intentional, and candid perspective. Bringing that nostalgic feeling back when you receive your instant photographs within only 2 weeks after your wedding day.
A third shooter will work alongside Sophie and the second shooter. Only instead of a digital camera, the photographer will have instant cameras to capture the moments.
You might be asking yourself, "why should I hire a professional when I could just ask a friend?" Let's face it, an expensive camera does not make someone a professional photographer. I bring along a professional that is skilled in knowing the right lighting, the best angles, and how to work with two other photographers. Not to mention, there will be backup cameras and film, to ensure that everything goes smoothly. It also allows for all guests to enjoy the day, instead of being in charge of the instant camera.

Wear what you feel comfortable in
I always tell my clients to wear what they feel beautiful and comfortable in. For example; If you feel insecure about how short a dress is, it might stop you from having fun in front of the camera. Also, stay away from wearing something you would not normally pick out. If a high neck is not what you would typically gravitate towards, then do not wear it for the shoot.
Stick With Neutral Colors
One can never go wrong with neutral colors, however, keep in mind the location that you are having the shoot in. I have a lot of my shoots in fields and in woods. Which is why I tell my clients to stay away from green. That way they will not blend in with the background too much.
Be Yourself
This is an opportunity to get to know your photographer and become more relaxed with having a camera pointed at yourself. Keep in mind that this is a special time in your life. Which is why it is important that you don't shy away from being yourself while at the shoot. By the end of it, you will be able to look back on your session with excitement. Not only because you love your images, but because you had such an amazing experience and fun time.
Patterns & Accessories
Stay away from any outfits with distracting words or prints. The last thing you want is for the focus to be taken away from the special moment you and your significant other will be having. likewise, unless you are purposely planning a sports themed engagement shoot, tell your future hubby to drop the baseball hat. It takes away a segment of professionalism the photographer is trying to achieve. Plus, at the end of the day, the both of you will be glad you steered away from wearing it.

Month of Wedding Coordinator
Emergency Kit
As a bride, you should never have the added-on stress of being bombarded with questions. Not to mention, making sure everything is flowing properly and on time. Likewise, the maid of honor, family members, and anyone involved should not be given the extra responsibility. It is highly recommended that you hire a month of wedding coordinator. The coordinator will answer any questions that arise, sove problems, and will ensure that the schedule is being followed.
You never know what could go wrong. That is why it pays to be one step ahead. Putting together a kit that will help with fashion and makeup emergencies could end up being a lifesaver. There are plenty of lists on Google and Pinterest that will help when deciding on what to include.
Copies of Itinerary
Golden Hour
Having copies of the itinerary will save you trouble down the road. Copies can be sent out VIA phone, or printed.
You should always make sure that the time the sun will set is taken into consideration when scheduling your time to have pictures taken. Lighting can play a tremendous role in how the images look. Most professional photographers prefer taking pictures during golden hour. I recommend having them scheduled within 1-2 hours before the sun-sets.

Your FAQ's
Answered.
When will I receive my images?
For portrait sessions, you will receive your file within 14 days after the session date. For weddings, the turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.
Will the images I receive be watermarked?
In short, no. I personally just do not like how it looks. However, If a vendor I worked with asks me if they can put the images on their website, I MIGHT watermark them. Also, If you are posting a picture, I always appreciate it if you tag me! I love seeing which images my clients post, and love reposting them on my Instagram story.
How many images will I receive?
For weddings, I deliver 50 edited images per hour.
Should I practice posing?
It is not necessary. As the photographer, it is my job to pose and direct you!.
When is my wedding booked?
I require a signed contract, and a non-refundable retainer fee which is 50% of your total package price, to hold your wedding date + time. The remainder is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! I understand that weddings are expensive, that is why I offer customizable payment plans.
If I need to cancel, is the retainer refundable?
The purpose of the retainer is to lock in your date + time. If you cancel last minute, I could have booked someone else during that period. I do not write anything down in my calendar until the retainer has been paid, making your desired time up for grabs. Nothing is booked until the retainer has been paid.
